Assessment and Promotion Criteria
CLASSES VI-VIII

The academic session comprises of two terms.-Term 1and 2

1. SCHOLASTIC AREA

	Assessment Structure Total 100 Marks
Subjects	WRITTEN TEST		Internal Assessment (30 marks) Student has to secure 33% marks out of overall 30 marks  in each subject
	Term End Exam (80 marks) weightage 60 marks. Student has to secure minimum 33% marks out of 80 marks in each subject.	Periodic Test (40 marks) weightage 10 marks. Student has to secure minimum 33% marks out of 40 marks in each subject.
			Life Skills (20 Marks)	Assignment/ CW/ HW Notebook submission (5 Marks)	Subject Enrichment Activity (5 Marks)
English	Marks and Grades will be awarded for individual subjects. 8-point grading system will be followed	One Periodic Test in each Term  (PT1 & PT2)	Life Skills will be assessed in each term on the basis of parameters mentioned below. 1. Term End Exam (80 marks)

The school shall conduct 80 marks exam at the end of each term, carrying a weightage of 60 marks.

•  Half yearly exam will be conducted at the end of Term1 and shall include the syllabus covered till the announcement of exam.
• Annual Assessment will be conducted at the end of Term 2 and shall include the entire syllabus of Term 2 and also:

• For class VI, 10% syllabus of Term 1 covering significant topics
• For class VII, 20% syllabus of Term 1 covering significant topics
• For class VIII, 30% syllabus of Term 1 covering significant topics?

2. Periodic Test (40 marks)

The school shall conduct one periodic written test in each term, carrying a weightage of 10 marks.

3. Assignment/ CW/ HW / Notebook Submission (5 Marks)

The aim is to enhance the seriousness of students towards being regular in submitting assignments and home works. This also addresses the critical aspect of regularity, punctuality, neatness and notebook upkeep.

4. Subject Enrichment Activities (5 marks)

These are subject specific application activities aimed at enrichment of the understanding and skill development of the students. These activities would be carried out throughout the term ; however, evaluated at the term end.

2. CO-SCHOLASTIC ACTIVITIES

For the holistic development of the child, Co-Scholastic Activities like Visual and Performing Arts, Health and  Physical Education will be graded on a 3 point grading scale (A to C). The aspect of regularity sincere participation, output and teamwork would be the generic criteria for grading these activities.

3. DISCIPLINE

Students will be graded on a 3 point  scale (A to C) for their attendance, sincerity, behavior, values, tidiness, respectfulness for rules and regulation, attitude towards society, Nation and others.

The 3 point grading system for Co-Scholastic activities and Discipline:

Points to be noted:

1. It is compulsory for the students to appear in all Examinations/ Assessments. However, if a student remains absent on any exam day due to unavoidable circumstances or medical reasons, parents are requested to inform the school reception or mail at the school email ID on the very same day/ at the earliest.
2. Retest will be conducted only in genuine Medical Emergencies/ On Duty cases.
3. Any Application/ Medical certificate with a request letter should be submitted within one week of the leave taken after which it will not be accepted and the student will be marked absent.
4. For a student using unfair means/ cheating during any examination, the answer sheet would not be evaluated and the student would be awarded ‘Zero’ in that exam.
5. No student shall be allowed to take the Annual Examination unless he/she has completed 75% attendance.
